On November 22, 23 and 24, the Round Table took part to Dynamo’s first social hackathon on “interculturality”. In total, 17 teams were chosen to develop their project proposal on how to promote inclusion in the Greater Montreal, along four themes: communication, law and services, housing and employment. During the 2-day competition, the teams attended prototyping sessions, filled progress reports and prepared their pitch to present in front of the jury. The judges, community and institutional actors (BINAM, Centraide, CSAI, among others), were to choose 5 teams, who would receive a total of $7000 in prize money as well as a six-month personalized support from Dynamo and Maison de l’innovation sociale coaches.

COMMUNITY SELF-CONSULTATION TOOLS IN PARK EXTENSION
Following OCPM’s public consultation on systemic racism and discimination, which the Round Table coordinated in Park Extension, our team has formally agreed to develop community self-consultation tools for people facing systemic barriers to accessing traditional consultation spaces.

While the Round Table did not win, we were able to meet with other passionate and dedicated community organizations and individuals. Also, the two days spent working on our project allowed us to come up with the proper research and documentation to apply for other funding. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to partner up or suggest possible grants :).

Here’s a clip of our collaborators during the Q&A session following their presentation.
