What is BIPE?
BIPE is the Parc-Extension Information Office. It is one of the projects of the Plan de Quartier 2021-2026.
BIPE’s goal is to provide multilingual referrals to the right resources in Parc-Extension and beyond, through active and sympathetic listening on the part of our consultants. It also aims to showcase the neighborhood’s community organizations and encourage the creation of links between the various players in the community.
Residents come to find answers to their questions from the three consultants who currently make up the BIPE team. Shahista, Anastasia and Arpita are three residents who are very involved in the Parc-Extension community: they are therefore able to offer adapted referrals in the languages spoken by the residents (Punjabi, Greek, Bengali, Urdu, etc.).
BIPE is open Monday to Friday at the Parc-Extension library (12 to 4pm Mondays and Fridays, 10am to 2pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays).

BIPE, one of the first collective impact projects (PIC) completed Neighborhood Plan (2021-2026). It responds to two changes desired by the community:
- Residents (people who are vulnerable, isolated and not well connected to networks) know about and use the services they need;
- More residents on the path to socio-professional integration (18+).
Parc-Extension resource directory
Since 2022, BIPE has been providing local residents and organizations with an online online resource directory. Updated annually, it gives you easy access to a wide range of useful resources.
Whether you’re looking for a job, help with administrative formalities or access to a food bank, a simple search will help you find the right Parc-Extension organization to meet your needs. Over 40 organizations are listed.

Arpita Adhikary
Advisor to Bipe
Having spent her teenage years in Parc-Extension, the neighborhood has become an integral part of Arpita’s identity. Arpita hopes to be a resource person who helps those in need, as she wants to give back to the community that has given her so much.
Shahista Hamid Hussein
Information Services Advisor
Shahista is passionate about human services. After several years of volunteering with community organizations in the Parc Extension neighborhood, she joined BIPE as an Advisor. She puts her energy and love of human relations to work for the benefit of the community, to meet the needs of its users.
Anastasia Georgiou
Information Services Advisor
More than 10 years in the Parc Extension neighborhood, Anastasia joins the BIPE team as an Advisor. Highly involved in the community, she is keen to continue her commitment to the Table de Quartier. Its aim is to facilitate communication within the community and enhance the value of existing resources.
Lucas Raimbault
Development officer - BIPE
Specialized in local social development, Lucas has worked to improve the quality of life of residents in a working-class district of Toulouse (France).
In particular, he has worked with local residents and organizations to set up projects promoting community health, employment for all and youth development.tes and youth development.
Committed to promoting access to rights for vulnerable people, he joined the Table de Quartier team as head of the BIPE (Bureau d’information de Parc-Extension) project.
Our history
To raise awareness of existing resources within the Parc-Extension neighborhood, a “directory committee” was created in May 2020. This committee was made up of various neighborhood partners:
- Rose Ndjel atAfrique au Féminin ;
- Catherine Roy at the Parc-Extension Library ;
- Ghislaine Paiement at the Barclay and Barthélemy-Vimont schools;
- Véronique Billette at CIUSSS du Centre-Ouest-de-l’île de Montréal ;
- Amina M’haia and Qurat Ain at the Table de quartier de Parc-Extension.
The Parc-Extension directory committee gathered information on the various resources available in the neighborhood, thus creating an initial inventory. It also worked to classify and categorize the information contained in the directory. The committee’s aim was to make this information accessible to all Parc-Extension stakeholders.
After two years’ work, BIPE opened its doors in March 2022, with the support of its community, financial and institutional partners (many thanks to Parc-Extension community organizations, 211 du Grand Montréal, Centraide, Dynamo, the City of Montreal’s Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension borough and the Marcelle and Jean-Coutu Foundation). For 2022-2023, BIPE has referred over 1,000 residents to the various resources available in the neighborhood.
